Ice Cream Summer

Really, as Mother's, this is what we should all be doing... Encouraging our children to take treats from a strange man in a big white van with a clown on the front...

The whole thing really does play out just like a horror movie: You hear the melodies music, the intermittent, hypnotic "hellos" shout at you from the loud speaker, you turn your head, your eyes glaze over, your hands extend outward, you walk forward... It is "The Ice Cream Man" and he has come to make all your dreams come true, you just need to get a little bit closer...
So yes, we had a new neighborhood visitor come acallin this week. And Ryan, who has never seen an ice cream truck before in his life, knew what it was and he wanted it bad! How is it that every child in the world can hear and know the ice cream truck?! I don't care if you're in the back bedroom, back yard or 6 feet deep under water (I speak from personal experience on that one) you hear the song and you go running- barefoot in a bathing suit, head full of shampoo, favorite show still going strong-it doesn't matter- the ICE CREAM MAN is here! And he is here just for you and he will give you that ice cream taco you didn't know you needed and all will be right with world!!! Summer is fast upon us, this is only the beginning...

I'm soooo jealous that it's warm enough there for the ice cream truck to come around. This week it has been snowing here!

I love how you compare the ice cream man to a character from a horror movie. It's so true, wrong, and delicious, that we encourage our children to go up to a strange man in a strange van for treats.

I always picked a Welches grape juice bar...I was a little weird.

Of course Molly, you would choose a Welches grape juice bar. You also chose a stapler when Aunite Kathy said you could pick out anything you wanted from the toystore when she took us shopping that one time.

I forgot about that stapler! Oh, did I love it! Again...weird...

Hey Wendy great story about the ice cream man - Lisa might get upset about this reveal, but I can't resist and will never forget way back when we were well, wee, the ice cream truck was coming down our street, music on, Lisa came running from her bath in the buff to meet the "strange man" selling ice cream. What is it about the Ice Cream Man?? Love your Blog. Looks like everyone is well! Love to you - Gina
